HOTBOX is a one-man workshop driven by the belief that furniture should outlive the person who commissions it. Every table, shelf, and bench is built from solid European oak — no veneers, no shortcuts, no MDF hidden inside.

The Technique

Yakisugi — the ancient Japanese art of charring wood

Select
Choosing the right grain. Only boards with tight, straight grain qualify for the fire.

Char
Controlled flame across the surface. Depth of char determines texture and protection.

Brush
Wire brushing reveals the grain beneath the carbon. Every stroke is a decision.

Seal
Natural oil finish locks the texture. The wood is now weather-proof, pest-proof, timeless.
